The Official Journal of AUPSP

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.
Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.
An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
Original Articles include full-length reports of clinical, surgical, public health, or biomedical research. Manuscripts must follow the IMRaD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion) and adhere to appropriate reporting guidelines such as CONSORT (clinical trials), STROBE (observational studies), PRISMA (systematic reviews/meta-analyses), or CARE (case reports) where applicable. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.
Review Articles include narrative reviews, scoping reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses addressing contemporary issues in medicine, surgery, or public health. Authors must clearly describe the search strategy, inclusion criteria, and synthesis methods. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses must follow PRISMA guidelines. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.
Case Reports describe unique, rare, or clinically important cases that offer valuable learning points for clinicians and learners. Submissions should follow the CARE guidelines and include the following sections: Abstract, Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, and Conclusion. High-quality images and relevant investigations may be included. All submissions are double-blind peer-reviewed.
Short Communications are concise reports of preliminary data, small-scale studies, audits, or rapid communications of emerging findings. Manuscripts are limited to 1,500–2,000 words and should follow a brief IMRaD format. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.
Letters to the Editor include scholarly comments on recently published articles, brief scientific opinions, clinical observations, or constructive criticisms. Letters should be concise (up to 600 words) and may contain up to 5 references. These submissions undergo editorial review and may be sent for peer review when necessary.
